You have questions and we have answers! Check out our new FAQ to prepare for and support the first ever Women in Camp Summit!
Why a Summit for Women Camp Pros? The response for our Women in Camp Summit is overwhelming, but we know some may be asking, “Why a summit for Women in Camp?” One of our Women in Camp Founders, Ruby Compton, shares the why behind our summit; click here to read more! What kind of program will there be at the Summit? The Summit will address many issues and situations that women face in the workplace, especially in camp. With sessions and speakers on topics ranging from negotiations to building community to getting a handle on your calendar, there is something for every female camp pro out there. Best of all, this Summit has been designed to offer excellent networking opportunities with other female camp pros from all generations and levels within the camp industry. The full schedule and program will be posted soon. Check out the overview here, including information on our amazing keynote speakers! I’m having trouble getting funding to attend. What are my options? Payment isn’t due until two weeks prior to the Summit, so you can reserve your spot now without putting any money down. Additional financial assistance is available to those who need it; simply email kim@acail.org to learn more. Remember to register early because space is extremely limited this year! Don’t forget to check out our Room & Ride Sharing Group on Facebook to see if you can lower your cost by catching a ride from your local area or sharing a shuttle from the airport. When should I book my hotel room? We encourage you to book your room as soon as possible because the special low rate of $94 is only good until October 1st or when the block is booked, whichever comes first. There are several other groups at the resort at the same time, so space is very limited. Also, we offer a group on Facebook where you can scout for roommates to help bring down the cost! Book your room online here. Do I have to stay at Pheasant Run? Technically no, but we think you should for two main reasons:
How can I help? If you are interested in volunteering, please let Kim at kim@acail.org know and she’ll connect you with a project area that best suits your interests and skills. Another way to help support the Summit is by donating to the “Help A Sister” fund. Donations to this fund help us lower the cost and offer financial assistance to the camp pros who couldn’t otherwise attend. Lastly, please share that we have sponsorship opportunities with your favorite vendors. Click here for the website to learn more. If you have a favorite vendor you think would be interested in supporting this important and timely Summit, please encourage them to learn more about us. Comments are closed.
