Camping – the chance for a child to wish on the first star every night!

With the support of friends like you, ACA Illinois is able to support the following funding programs.

These programs help to send many children to camp, who otherwise would not be able to attend.

Russell W. Hogrefe Fresh Start Fund

• ACA IL designates funds to send children in need from families with a working parent
• 100 % of donations are used for camperships. No administrative fees are taken from this fund.
• Campers are referred to the Fresh Start Fund through a third-party professional (social worker, teacher, etc.)

Chicago Camping Committee

• ACA IL partnership project with the Cook County Juvenile Court and the Chicago Police Department
• Provides at-risk and adjudicated youth a variety of appropriate camp experiences
• Includes a 2 night/3 day traditional camp experience
• Campers attend with their probation officers or police officers

S.C.O.P.E. Midwest

• Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge works in partnership with ACA IL
• Assists agencies, homeless shelters, and counseling centers to send children from the Midwest in need to camp

American Camp Association – Annual Fund

• Nationwide community of 7,000 camp professionals who have joined together to share knowledge and experience
• Works to ensure the quality of camp programs
• As an authority in youth development works to preserve, promote, and improve the camp experience
• Many intitiatives through education, research, and innovative programs
