professional development & covid-19
Since March of 2020, the word pivot has been used more than ever before, especially when it comes to professional development and training. Every camp is coming up with a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C....and so on. You are not in this alone. The whole camp community is moving through this time together. Never before has it been more important to continue to come together to network, share ideas, and learn.
We recognize that there continues to be an incredible restriction on our camp professionals, including access to funds to attend events, time to spend on networking, ability to travel, being stretched at home and and at work to name a few. For the 2020/2021 year we are moving all our events and meetings as an Association online. This strategy will allow you to float in and out of our events, trainings, and meetings more easily because we've eliminated the need to travel. Another benefit is that because we aren't meeting in person, we were able to decrease our expenses so that we can lower the cost of all our events - making them more affordable during this time. Additionally, we added more offerings at various times of the days, including evenings for those who are unable to gather during day hours.
We will continue to monitor the situation surrounding the Pandemic and continue to pivot to meet the needs of you, our members. Our mission remains the same as before March: Get more kids to camps and help those camps be the very best place for them.
